Montecristo Open Master is a medium-bodied cigar with a cleaner, fresher personality than classic Montecristos, designed with “outdoor” smoking in mind. The first puffs usually bring smooth notes of toasted tobacco, light wood, and dry hay, with a gentle touch of white pepper or soft baking spice on the retrohale. As it develops, you often find flavors of roasted nuts, biscuit or toast, and a hint of creamy coffee or light cocoa, all carried on an easy, approachable texture. There’s usually a mild underlying sweetness—sometimes suggesting honey or vanilla—that never becomes heavy, keeping the profile bright rather than dark or earthy. Toward the final third, the wood and spice usually become a bit more pronounced while the strength remains comfortably medium, leaving a clean finish of nuts, dry wood, and faint cocoa on the palate.
